Shaun Dunne

Front End Engineer - Mobile Developer - Hacker - Geek

I can currently be found working for SapientNitro as an Interactive Developer based in their London Offices.

I have a passion for developing cool web apps, but recently have begun a journey into mobile applications, using my knowledge of web development to build some kick-ass web based mobile apps.

When I'm not working or taking care of the kids, I can usually be found building things on the internet. I've also begun sharing some knowledge on mobile.tuts+ and writing about gadgets on Gadizmo

Mobile Tuts+

Mobiletuts+ is all about quality tutorials for mobile developers. Topics covered include native development with the iOS SDK, Android SDK/NDK, and Windows Phone 7 SDK, cross-platform development with tools like Titanium Mobile and PhoneGap, and techniques for building mobile accessible web sites and web apps with HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript (this includes mobile web app frameworks like jQuery Mobile and SenchaTouch as well).

Curriculum Vitae

I'm not a big lover of the traditional form of CV, but I can provide one upon request.

I started my development career as a campaign manager for an email marketing company in 2007 and in 2008 moved into a junior PHP role for a publishing house. Circa 2009 I decided that I wanted to move into Javascript, largely thanks to Remy Sharp, not that he has any real idea of who I am or that we've ever met.

I made my move into Front End Development at the beginning of 2010 and went to work for Ogilvy Action in London, things didn't work out as well as I had hoped, thus I moved on within a few weeks. I worked freelance for a bit until I came to rest at Sapient in August 2010 and have been there since.

During my time at Sapient I have increased my Javascript knowledge immensely, worked on some fo the biggest brands and built some great applications for world renowned corporations.

Over the past year I have become increasingly interested in mobile development, most notably using Web Technologies in conjuction with frameworks such as PhoneGap, Titanium and have even dabbled in iOS Games using Corona, LimeJS and my personal favourite, Gamesalad

If you want to use Zepto, Backbone, Underscore and Persistence to build kick-ass applications, mobile or desktop, you can email me at thedarkpoet@gmail.com. If you are looking for a PHP developer...don't email me...please.
